Fieldwork Christmas, why take a taxi when you can take a boat!
Being an imaginative and slightly unconventional crew, for this year’s Fieldwork Christmas outing we took a scenic trip down the Thames to the pretty village of Cookham. A glass of delicious local bubbly, from Marlow winery Harrow & Hope, helped to bolster our Christmas spirit.
The venue for our lunch had been beautifully decked out in all its Christmas finery. In addition to being a great place to have lunch, Cookham is also the birthplace and was home to the painter Stanley Spencer. So if you are visiting, it’s worth popping into the small but good Stanley Spencer Gallery.
